Our Approach

How It Works

Children grow up surrounded by consistent, caring adults.

Foster parents have daily, built-in support.

Older adults rediscover purpose through meaningful relationships.

And churches become places of lived compassion.

Research shows intergenerational support:

Improves placement stability

Streams of Hope works upstream and alongside the system to keep children in consistent, nurturing homes. By recruiting and equipping more licensed families, supporting sibling placements, and surrounding foster parents with practical help and mentorship, we help reduce the number of disruptive moves children experience. Research shows that stable placements are strongly linked to better emotional and educational outcomes—so our model prioritizes continuity, rapid support when challenges arise, and community-based care that helps placements succeed long term.

Reduces foster family burnout

Foster parents often leave within the first year due to isolation, compassion fatigue, and lack of support. Streams of Hope addresses this directly by building wraparound care teams that provide respite, resource connections, training, and encouragement before families reach the breaking point. When foster parents feel seen, supported, and practically helped, retention improves. Our proactive support model is designed to lighten the daily load so families can sustain their calling with confidence and longevity.

Strengthens child well-being

Children in foster care thrive when their emotional, relational, and developmental needs are consistently met. Streams of Hope focuses on whole-child support—connecting families to trauma-informed resources, tutoring, enrichment opportunities, and community mentors. Studies consistently show that children who experience stable, supportive relationships demonstrate better mental health, school performance, and long-term outcomes. Our approach ensures each child is not just placed, but truly supported and known.

Creates lifelong relational safety nets

Too many youth age out of foster care without enduring adult connections. Streams of Hope intentionally builds relational networks around every child and family—mobilizing churches, volunteers, and community partners to form lasting circles of care. By fostering meaningful, long-term relationships (not just short-term services), we help ensure that no young person walks into adulthood alone. Our goal is simple but powerful: every child surrounded by committed adults who remain present for the long haul.
